Amy Hewitt, Ph.D., will serve in a consulting and advisory to the RTCOM. She is the Director of the Institute on Community Integration. Dr. Hewitt has an extensive background and work history in the field of disability outcomes, research, services, and supports. She is the Training Director of Institute on Community Integration and the Associate Director for the MN LEND. Hewitt directs several federal and state research, evaluation and demonstration projects in the area of community living and participation for people with significant disabilities. She currently has research projects that focus on community living, identifying valid and reliable outcome measures, organizational change, direct support workforce development, person-centered planning/thinking and positive behavior support. Dr. Hewitt’s work reaches a wide variety of audiences via 24 peer-reviewed articles, 10 technical reports, five book chapters, and 16 juried presentations at national conferences in the last eight years.
